Taj Mahal, “symbol of love”
Taj Mahal is a monument in Agra, India. It was commission by Emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The building was built between 1630 and 1653.
It is located on the bank of river Yamuna, which served as a means of defense of the fortresses of Agra.
The Taj Mahal was built by the fifth mogul emperor, Shah Jahan in memory of the second wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Muslim Persian princess. Empress died after the birth of the 14 th child.
Before the last breath Mumtaz asked the king four things: to build him a tomb, to remarry, to love his children and to visit the grave to anniversary. So the king swore that he would build a grand edifice funeral and without equal in the world.
The construction of Taj Mahal began in 1631 and lasted 22 years. Designed by Iranian architect Ustad Isa, the Taj Mahal has become “the symbol of eternal love.
” Building “rises” in a red landscape, is situated on a terrace of white marble which emphasize huge dome and the four minaret.
Ensemble closes inside a very beautiful garden with fountains and wells main alley, which is based on the imposing entrance is guarded by ornamental trees. Inside the coffin domului empress was inlaid with precious stones.
